
SACRAMENTO -- De’Aaron Fox sat two of the last three games and was a on the sidelines at practice Friday afternoon with what the team has described as a right quad contusion. Following an MRI, the diagnosis has changed.
The rookie point guard has a slight tear to the quadricep muscle in his right leg and will miss the next two weeks and then be reevaluated by the Kings.
Fox, 20, has played in 29 games for Sacramento this season, including 16 starts. He’s posted 9.4 points and 3.7 assists in 25.1 minutes per game. He injured his right leg last week when he banged knees with Minnesota Timberwolves big man Karl-Anthony Towns.

After missing a game against the Toronto Raptors on Sunday, Fox returned to the court Tuesday in Philadelphia, but struggled to push off the leg. He sat out the Kings win over the Nets on Wednesday and was reevaluated Friday afternoon by the team’s medical staff.
