Clippers' Rivers fined $25K for drilling Kings fan with seat cushion

Los Angeles Clippers guard Austin Rivers has been fined $25,000 by the NBA for throwing a seat cushion into the stands, it was announced Thursday.

Rivers threw the cushion in the fourth quarter of the Clippers' 111-104 victory over the Sacramento Kings on Wednesday, Oct. 28 at Sleep Train Arena.

As can be seen in this NBA.com video, the cushion hit a woman -- a Kings season ticket holder -- in the face.

The Clippers travel with their own seat cushions, which are five or six inches thick to make life on the bench more comfortable for tall NBA players. It made for a substantial projectile, which knocked out one of the woman's contact lenses.

Following a Clippers timeout with the Kings storming back into the game, Rivers was seen punching a chair on the end of the bench before launching the seat cushion. He did not look up to see where it landed.

The fourth-year player and son of Clippers coach Doc Rivers scored three points in 16 minutes against the Kings. He was 0-for-3 from the field and 3-for-4 from the free-throw line.

There's already bad blood between the two teams.

“I hate them, honestly, I do, I hate them," Kings All-Star center DeMarcus Cousins said after the game.
