Buddy Hield wants to face Steph Curry, Klay Thompson in 3-point contest

Programming note: "Wire to Wire: Warriors vs. Kings" debuts this week on NBC Sports Bay Area and NBC Sports California. The hour-long special is highlighted by extensive in-game audio from the Warriors-Kings game on Feb. 25 at Chase Center. Watch on NBC Sports Bay Area on Tuesday at 10 p.m. and NBC Sports California on Wednesday at 10 p.m.

Northern California is the home of the 3-pointer.

Don't believe me? Just look at the hardware. Steph Curry, Klay Thompson and Buddy Hield all have won the 3-point Contest at NBA's All-Star Weekend. Curry took home the trophy in 2015, Thompson won in 2016 and Hield won this year.

So, who would win if all three faced each other in their own 3-point contest? Hield wants to find out.

"I think it’d be better going against them and winning it, because they’re such great shooters," Hield said during an episode of NBC Sports Bay Area's "Wire to Wire," which debuts this week. "Probably two of the best shooters to ever play our game. And hopefully one of these days we can all go in there one time and see what everybody is about and have that big challenge."

Curry has revolutionized the NBA with his shooting ability, and holds the single-season record for most 3-pointers with 402. Thompson owns the record for most 3-pointers made in a single game with 14, besting Curry's previous record of 13.

As for Hield, he's taking a flamethrower to the Kings' record book. In November, he set a franchise record when he made 11 3-pointers against the Boston Celtics. Last season, he broke Peja Stojakovic's franchise record for most 3-pointers in a season with 278.

In February, Hield also broke Curry's record for fastest player to 800 career 3-pointers, doing it in 296 games, while Curry needed 305 to reach that round number.

We want to see this happen, so we are calling on the Splash Brothers to hit up Hield and figure out a time and place.
