What Giants' uniforms would look like if Toronto move happened in 1976

The story of the Giants almost moving from San Francisco to St. Petersburg, Florida in the 1990s is well-known.

But in 1976, the Giants were close to being relocated to Toronto. Yes, Canada.

Luckily for Giants fans, the move north of the border never happened. According to BlueJayHunter.com, then-San Francisco mayor George Moscone stepped in and prevented the team from being sold and moved to Toronto.

But what if the Giants had moved to Toronto in 1976? What would the jerseys look like?

In a story published Monday by The Athletic, they got their hands on drawings of what the Toronto Giants' uniform and hat would have looked like.

The Toronto Giants would have kept the color scheme the franchise has used since its days as the New York Giants. Of course, they would have a "TG" logo instead of the "SF" logo.

In the end, everything worked out for both cities involved.

As for the Giants, after two unsuccessful attempts to relocate the team, they built a new stadium on the shores of McCovey Cove and raised three World Series trophies this past decade.
