The Fresno Grizzlies opened the season on the road in Tucson, Arizona Thursday with 2011 MLB All-Star Ryan Vogelsong on the hill.
Vogelsong, making a rehab start for the San Francisco Giants, showed no signs of back soreness as he pitched four solid innings of shutout ball against the San Diego Padres Triple-A affiliate. He struck out six, walked three and only allowed three hits (two singles and a double) in 83 pitches.
Vogelsong is expected to make one more rehab start with the Fresno Grizzlies next week before joining the Giants.
