SAN FRANCISCO -- With spring training approaching, former Giants infielder Ehire Adrianza is headed for his third team in under a week.
Adrianza was claimed off waivers by the Minnesota Twins on Monday, ending a very short stint with the Milwaukee Brewers. The Brewers DFA'd Adrianza last Thursday to clear a spot for another waiver claim. The Giants designated Adrianza late last month to open room for new backup catcher Nick Hundley.
The 27-year-old made 40 appearances for the Giants last season, his fourth in the big leagues as a backup. He never quite found his footing at the plate, hitting .220 as a Giant, and the front office opted to go in a different direction with their bench.
