A's fans will turn into Red Sox fans this weekend when the Yankees enter Fenway Park for the final three games of the 2018 season.
On Thursday, the Yankees blew out the Rays 12-1 in Tampa Bay, pushing their record to 98-61. That means the Yankees now are two games ahead of the A's (96-63) with three to go in the race for home field in the American League Wild Card Game.
The A's were off Thursday before starting their final three games Friday against the Angels in Anaheim.

So, there is only one way the A's can play the Yankees in the AL Wild Card Game at the Coliseum in front of their home fans. A's fans will root for two sweeps starting Friday -- the A's over the Angels and the Red Sox over the Yankees.
Oakland would finish with a 99-63 record by sweeping the Angels, and New York would drop to 98-64 if it's swept. The Yankees are 7-9 against the Red Sox this season, and the A's are 8-8 versus the Angels.
