
“The right field bleacher fans and the left field bleacher fans, I mean, those are some of the best fans, most dedicated in baseball … ”
Stephen Vogt said as much when he joined former A’s infielder Trevor Plouffe on a recent episode of “Sequence,” and discussed how he will forever remember his time with Oakland from 2013 to '17 and what he heard whenever he stepped up to the plate.
It was yelling from the ever loud and proud fans of the Green and Gold above the outfield with their banners and chants. One saying in particular sticks with Vogt to this day.

The “I believe in Stephen Vogt” cheer was more than that to him, however.
“It became such a deep meaning,” Vogt explained. “It was one of those things -- and it stuck with me now, and here we are in 2020.”
Vogt complimented A's fans, once again saying that even when the Coliseum wasn’t filled with fans, the bleachers were full every night.
“Didn’t matter what the record was, didn’t matter what was going on, they were going to be there.”

Vogt was beloved not only by A’s fans but in the clubhouse as well, for his veteran presence and sense of humor.

The catcher now is with the Arizona Diamondbacks after signing a one-year contract last November, but he admitted he still heard fans screaming “they believe” during spring training from random ballparks. So it still follows the two-time All-Star around, and he has no issue with it at all.
“I absolutely love it.”
