Sources: Giants have made offer to Farhan Zaidi, expect decision soon

The Giants have zeroed in on the man to run their baseball operations department and now they just need an answer.

Farhan Zaidi has been offered the position of president of baseball operations, multiple league sources confirmed to NBC Sports Bay Area's Alex Pavlovic, and Andrew Friedman, the Dodgers' president of baseball operations, indicated on Tuesday that his organization will not stand in the way of Zaidi accepting the Giants' offer.

The current Dodgers GM is expected to make his decision sometime during the next 24 hours, according to Fox Sports' Jon Morosi.

Rumors have swirled for the last few days that Zaidi was the leading candidate for the Giants' vacancy.

Zaidi has been the Dodgers' GM since November of 2014. Prior to that, he spent time with the A's and held positions of director of baseball operations and assistant general manager.

The Giants fired Bobby Evans as their general manager a week before the end of the regular season.
