With every day, week, and month that passes, the Giants continue to establish themselves as a serious World Series contender.
Sitting atop the baseball world with an eye-popping 57-32 record at the seasons' unofficial midpoint, the Giants' shocking level of success in the first half has them positioned for a playoff run, and a deep one at that.
Former closer Robb Nen is familiar with deep playoff runs as a member of the Giants. With San Francisco from 1998-2002, Nen was part of three playoff runs with the club, including a heartbreaking World Series loss to the Los Angeles Angels in 2002.

Nen joined 95.7 The Game's Covay & JD to discuss the current Giants team, and why they continue to have so much success.
“These guys are in first place with the best record in baseball for a reason," Nen said. "Because they’re good, they go out and play, they pull for each other, and there’s somebody different every night doing something great whether it’s the pitchers or the bullpen or the starters or the hitters or the defense.”
There's no question that the Giants are a good team who has a chance to make a run deep into the playoffs.
But a World Series? Does this team have what it takes?

If the Giants plan on contending for the World Series title, these next few weeks could be their toughest test all season.
