David Villar made his MLB debut with the Giants on Monday and immediately supplied the fireworks.
His first big league at-bat came against the Arizona Diamondbacks, and Villar ripped the first pitch he saw from Madison Bumgarner to the Chase Field wall in right for a leadoff double in the top of the second inning.

The 25-year-oldâs family was ecstatic as Villar stood on second base after coming inches away from a solo home run -- a sweet payoff after a long journey to make it to the majors.
Villar was called up from Triple-A after demolishing minor league pitching all season in hopes that he could provide a jolt to a struggling San Francisco lineup, and he proved capable in his first opportunity on the Fourth of July.
In his second big league at-bat, Villar came through again, delivering an RBi single in the top of the third inning.
He got the news on Sunday night that he would be playing in Arizona the next day, and travel setbacks along the way meant he only got two hours of sleep the night before his big debut.

But that didn't stop Villar from immediately making an impact.
After slugging a team-high 21 homers in Sacramento, itâs evident that Villar can continue to produce at the plate for the Giants.
