Story repeatedly has been a thorn in the side of the Giants for years as a member of the Colorado Rockies. It remains unclear exactly how interested San Francisco is in signing the 29-year-old shortstop, but it would likely require a position change with Brandon Crawford at short.

Earlier this week president of baseball operations Farhan Zaidi said that the Giants are content with the team they have, hinting that a big signing might not be in the cards unless the opportunity presented itself.
With Pederson putting in a good word, maybe the former Rockies star will be open to possibly taking a shorter deal and switching positions to play for the Giants.
