In the top of the seventh inning of the Giants' matchup with the Milwaukee Brewers on Wednesday night, relief pitcher Jose Alvarez threw a 3-2 pitch to Brewers hitter Willy Adames that appeared to be a strike in the middle of the plate.

Homeplate umpire Ted Barrett agreed to disagree.
Clearly strike three, the missed call resulted in Alvarez walking the bases loaded with two outs. Already down by a run, a bases-loaded jam was the absolute last thing a struggling Giants offense needed.
Brandon Crawford's wife, Jalynne, wasn't too thrilled either.
The crisis was averted, as the Giants and Alvarez escaped without further damage.
Robot umpires wouldn't have missed that call. Just saying.
