It didn't take long for the Giants to turn the vibe around and hit a milestone on Thursday afternoon.
Austin Slater crushed a first-pitch fastball from Milwaukee's Eric Lauer into the home bullpen in the first inning, getting the Giants to 200 homers for the season.

Slater's second career leadoff blast was also his career-high 10th, and that got the Giants to a franchise record for distributed power.
Slater became the 10th Giant to reach double-digit homers, the most in team history. Four other Giants clubs had nine 10-homer hitters, most recently the 2000 group that hit 226 homers, the second-most in franchise history.
This current lineup still has a great shot at breaking the franchise record of 235 set in 2001. The Giants currently lead the Majors. They're just ahead of the Toronto Blue Jays (197) and Atlanta Braves (193).

Slater's blast brought some cheers to Oracle Park early on after four straight quiet offensive games. He joined Mike Yastrzemski (21 homers), Brandon Belt (20), Brandon Crawford (19), LaMonte Wade Jr. (17), Wilmer Flores (17), Buster Posey (16), Darin Ruf (14), Alex Dickerson (13) and Evan Longoria (10).
The Giants have a decent shot at getting an 11th in double-digits, too. Kris Bryant hit six homers in his first 25 games in orange and black.
