The Giants on Tuesday claimed Jake Jewell off waivers from the Los Angeles Dodgers, and sent him to Triple-A Sacramento.
Jewell, 28, pitched 10 games for the Chicago Cubs out of the bullpen this season. He had a 9.90 ERA, allowing 11 earned runs in 10 innings pitched.
The Cubs designated Jewell for assignment on Aug. 28. The Dodgers then claimed him on Aug. 31 and sent him to Triple-A. He didn't allow any runs in 2 1/3 innings for the Oklahoma City Dodgers. The Oklahoma native is 2-1 with a 2.60 ERA in the minors this season and has four saves.

Jewell was part of the Giants organization last season, but didn't make the major league squad and didn't pitch in the minor leagues with the season canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In 31 appearances out of the bullpen in his big league career, Jewell has a 7.75 ERA over 38 1/3 innings. He also is 25-43 with a 4.78 ERA in his minor league career.
