The Giants currently have the best record in the NL, but that doesn't mean Farhan Zaidi and the front office won't be looking for ways to bolster the roster before the MLB trade deadline.
Contending teams often eye bullpen arms for midseason trades, and NBC Sports Bay Area Giants analyst Shawn Estes identified four potential pitchers that could be impactful additions to the pitching staff.
Estes first looked to a division rival that appears to be on the precipice of a major rebuild in the Colorado Rockies.

Mychal Givens is a reliever with experience being a closer at the big-league level. Givens is 2-2 with a 2.91 ERA in 2021, striking out 23 and walking 11 over 21 2/3 innings.
Despite playing at one of MLB's most hitter-friendly ballparks, Givens ranks in the 95th percentile of pitchers in hard-hit percentage. The 31-year-old also ranks in the 88th percentile for average exit velocity and 94th percentile in the spin rate of his fastball.
It's a small sample size, but Givens has been lights out away from Coors Field. In 14 2/3 innings at home, he has a 4.30 ERA, while not surrendering a single run in any of his seven innings pitched on the road.
Daniel Bard is the second member of the Rockies bullpen named by Estes as a potential cost-effective deadline addition.

"You talk about stuff, he's got a slider, he's got a curveball, he's got a fastball that he can get up to 101," Estes said.
Bard indeed has a fastball that averages 97.9 mph, and is in the 100th percentile for spin rate among MLB arms. Over 25 innings this season, Bard has a 3.60 ERA and has 35 strikeouts along with 11 walks.
Daniel Hudson was the next pitcher on Estes' list, and the 34-year-old certainly offers the most postseason experience of the four pitchers on the list.
"The reason why I like him, he's experienced, he's been through it, he's been a closer in the past, he's been more of a set-up guy but just look at the stuff," Estes said.

Hudson is another hard thrower with a strikeout percentage and expected batting average in the 95th percentile of MLB pitchers. Hudson has a 2.59 ERA over 24 1/3 innings with 35 strikeouts and seven walks.
The veteran made nine appearances for the Washington Nationals during the 2019 MLB Playoffs, including getting the final out of Game 7.
But Estes saved his favorite choice for last, and he'd certainly be a familiar face for Giants fans.
Taylor Rogers has been the set-up man in the Minnesota Twins' bullpen this season, and the reason his face would be familiar is that his twin brother, Tyler, is in the Giants' bullpen already.
"He's got strikeout stuff, strikes out way more than a batter an inning, he can rush it up there at 96 mph with the fastball and he's got a wipeout slider that he throws to both righties and lefties," Estes said.
Minnesota's Rogers ranks in the top 10 percent of MLB arms in strikeout and walk percentage, and has a chase rate that is among the best in the league.
Rogers has a 3.04 ERA over 26 2/3 innings, with 37 strikeouts and just five walks allowed.
What a great story it would be to pair the Rogers twins together in the Giants' bullpen, especially as Minnesota sits in last place in the AL Central.
The Giants won't be the only team eyeing bullpen improvements before the trade deadline, but these four names could be critical additions that wouldn't break the bank for the Giants' front office.
Expect Zaidi and the Giants to be active over the next month and a half before the July 30 deadline.
