Dodgers' Bauer to miss rest of season; administrative leave extended

Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Trevor Bauer reportedly is expected to remain on administrative leave for the remainder of the 2021 MLB season and postseason with criminal charges and a potential suspension still pending, Jon Heyman and Jeff Passan reported Friday.

Major League Baseball placed Bauer on leave in early July due to sexual assault allegations. The leave has now been extended nine times.

California police finished their investigation into the allegations against Bauer and handed the case to the L.A. County District Attorney's Office.

Bauer is in his 10th MLB season and first with the Dodgers. He made 17 starts before being placed on leave. He has not pitched for the Dodgers since June 28.
