The Arizona Diamondbacks set an MLB record on Thursday, but not one that’s brag-worthy.
After falling to the Giants 10-3, the D-backs made history by losing their 23rd consecutive road game. It is the longest streak in the modern era (since 1900), surpassing the 1943 Philadelphia Athletics and the 1963 New York Mets, who both lost 22 straight.
But there is a silver lining to this. We learned just how strong the D-backs' Twitter game is, as the team's official social media account had the perfect reaction after Thursday's record-breaking loss.

It also was Arizona's 14th consecutive loss overall and the team hasn’t won on the road since former Giants hurler Madison Bumgarner threw his seven-inning no-hitter in Atlanta on April 25.
April. 25th.
Alas, the D-backs’ Twitter account did the best it could to lean into it all series long, as Giants insider Alex Pavlovic pointed out after Wednesday's game.
Following Tuesday’s 9-8 thrilling win for the Giants -- and heartbreaking loss for Arizona -- they played into it as well.
“Everything hurts,” was all they could tweet. Perhaps there weren’t any additional words to describe losing after being up 7-0 in the second inning.
They also appeared to be just as shocked by the outcome, sealed after Mike Yastrzemski’s grand slam with two outs in the eighth inning.
