2022 World Series odds: Dodgers, Astros favorites as lockout ends

Share

The lockout is over, which means the chase for a piece of metal begins.

Major League Baseball and the MLB Players Association agreed to a new collective bargaining agreement on Thursday, ending a 99-day lockout. After initially stating that Opening Day would be postponed until April 14, the first pitch will now be thrown on April 7 as the league embarks on a 162-game season.

A new playoff format will take effect in 2022, with 12 teams making the postseason instead of 10. That gives more teams a shot at winning the World Series and hoisting the Commissioner’s Trophy. Still, some teams have greater odds of winning it all.

With the season officially on, here’s a look at how oddsmakers view each team’s chances of winning the 2022 Fall Classic.

Which MLB team has the best odds of winning the 2022 World Series?

The 2020 World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers currently have the best odds of winning another title with +600 odds, according to our partner, PointsBet.

The Houston Astros (+900) and New York Yankees (+1100) are next. After that, the reigning champion Atlanta Braves, Chicago White Sox and New York Mets are tied with +1200 odds.
