The Atlanta Braves announced their coaching staff for next season on Tuesday morning, revealing that former A's coach Ron Washington will head east to become the Braves third-base coach.
"This is a unique professional opportunity for Wash, which allows him to be closer to his family in New Orleans," A's executive vice president Billy Beane said in a statement. "His professionalism and enthusiasm have left an indelible mark on everyone in our organization. We are all excited for him and wish him the best."
"Sad to see Ron Wash go," Danny Valencia tweeted. "Wow. Honestly one of the hardest working coaches I've ever played for."

Washington, 64, spent the past two seasons with the A's after serving as manager of the Texas Rangers. He previously coached first and third base for the A's from 1996-2006.
