Olivo last played in the majors in 2014 with the Dodgers. He appeared in eight games and collected five hits in 23 at-bats.
In parts of 13 seasons with seven teams, Olivo has a career .240/.275/.417 line with 177 doubles, 145 home runs and 490 RBI.
In addition to Posey, Susac, Kottaras and Olivo, the Giants will have four other catchers in big league camp: Trevor Brown, top prospect Aramis Garcia, Tyler Ross and Matt Winn.
