The Dodgers are trading veteran catcher Carlos Ruiz to the Mariners, according to multiple national reports.
Ruiz, who turns 38 in January, put on a different uniform other than that of the Phillies for the first time in his 11-year career last season. The Dodgers swapped catchers in August as Ruiz went west and Clayton Kershaw's former personal catcher A.J. Ellis was sent to Philadelphia.

Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports was first to report the news. According MLB.com's Jon Paul Morosi, Ruiz waived his no-trade clause to head to Seattle. Joel Sherman of MLB Network reports the Dodgers will acquire a pitcher from the Mariners' 40-man roster in return.
