After years of being outbid by the Dodgers and other big-market teams for top international prospects, the Giants have seemingly arrived as a major player in this space.

The 20-year-old -- ranked the No. 4 international prospect by MLB.com -- reportedly agreed to a minor-league deal worth $2.5 million, according to Sanchez. Because the Giants have already exceeded their 2015-16 international bonus pool budget, the contract will cost them $5 million total.
The Dodgers, Cubs, Reds, Rangers and Astros were all rumored to be interested in Martinez, who has garnered comparisons to former Braves star Andruw Jones.
