Report: Evans ‘not aware of any consideration of a reunion' with Pablo

About 24 hours after The Boston Herald reported the Giants had "internally considered" re-acquiring Pablo Sandoval from the Red Sox, GM Bobby Evans has pretty much put that idea to bed.

Evans did his best to deny the possibility in a a brief statement to MLB.com on Saturday evening.

"I am not aware of any consideration of a reunion, but we'll never forget all that he meant to the Giants organization," Evans told Chris Haft.

Sandoval's first two seasons in Boston haven't gone as either side had hoped. In his first season, he hit .245 with just 10 home runs and 47 RBI. This past season, he played in just three games before undergoing season-ending surgery on his left shoulder.

The 30-year-old Sandoval has three years and $54.8 million left on his five-year deal.
