On the first day of the MLB Winter Meetings in Nashville, the A's reportedly discussed trading Brett Lawrie to the Angels. In the end, a deal never transpired.
But late Tuesday night, it appears as if the A's infielder is on the move.
The A's are close to trading the 25-year-old to the Chicago White Sox for two minor leagues, according to The San Francisco Chronicle.

No word on which players the A's would receive in return.
The A's can afford to part with Lawrie after reacquiring infielder Jed Lowrie from the Astros two weeks ago.
In 149 games with the A's in 2015, Lawrie hit .260/.299/.407 with 16 home runs and 60 RBI.
Oakland and Chicago have a productive history of making trades, including the six-player Jeff Samardzija deal that went down at last year’s winter meetings.
