
Buster Posey is catching live bullpen sessions in Scottsdale, Arizona,according to the San Francisco Chronicle.Giants beat writer Henry Schulman reports that Posey,rehabbing his way back to full-time catching duties after sustaining aseason-ending injury on May 25, has started to work with pitchers in theinstructional league.
Head athletic trainer Dave Groeschner told Schulman thathe watched Posey catch his second session, which lasted about eight minutes,Tuesday morning.
The original target date for Posey to catch live bullpensessions was Nov. 1, the one year anniversary of the Giants 2010 WorldSeries-clinching win.Groeschner, however, told Schulman why Posey is ahead ofschedule.Hes been feeling good and progressing well, so there was no reason to wait,Groeschner said.According to Schulman, Posey is also hitting in a battingcage a few times a week and is set to start live batting practice sessionssoon.
