Kyler Murray hasn't forgotten which team drafted him first.
The Arizona Cardinals quarterback rocked an A's hat while attending Thursday's Warriors-Suns game at Phoenix Suns Arena in a knowing nod to the franchise that selected him No. 9 overall in the 2018 MLB Draft.

Murray signed with the A's, but never suited up for the organization after returning to Oklahoma for his senior football season, his first as the Sooners' starting QB. Then Murray won the Heisman Trophy, led Oklahoma to the College Football Playoff and shot up draft boards all the way to the Cardinals picking him No. 1 overall in 2019.
Not even a year after the A's drafted Murray, his baseball career was history.

Well, for now, at least. Murray told CBS Sports Radio's "Tiki & Tierney" in November that he missed playing baseball, and he'll "never say never" to returning to the diamond.

“For me, I wish I could do both. I definitely feel like I could,” Murray said at the time. “I never say never, but as of right now, I’m having fun doing what I love.”
The A's still hold Murray's rights, so any future pursuit of a professional baseball career would start with Oakland. That doesn't seem particularly likely given Murray's success in the NFL so far, so his down time is probably the only time you'll see the 23-year-old in green and gold.
But if Murray, the only player to be drafted in the first round of two professional sports, hasn't ruled it out, maybe we shouldn't, either.
