MLB Network's Jon Heyman reported Friday that former MLB manager Brad Ausmus will be joining the A's coaching staff as the next bench coach.

SIGN UP HERE As Heyman mentions, Ausmus has plenty of experience as a player but also as a coach.
The 52-year-old had previously led the Detroit Tigers to an AL Central division title in 2014 and a near wild card berth in 2016 before being let go by the team in September of 2017. Ausmus then became the manager of the Los Angeles Angels in 2019 where the team posted a 72-90 record.

His 23 years of MLB experience will provide the A's with a bench coach who knows the game of baseball and the AL West very well.
