For the second time this season, Athletics outfielder Chad Pinder was involved in a scary collision with one of his teammates.
The latest incident occurred during the bottom of the sixth inning of the A's 5-3 win over the Kansas City Royals at Kauffman Stadium on Sunday when Pinder and rookie second baseman Jonah Bride collided on a pop-up in shallow right field off the bat of Edward Olivares.

Bride's head appeared to collide with the right side of Pinder's torso.
Both players were in immediate pain and were tended to by medical personnel for several minutes.
The good news for the A's is that both Pinder and Bride were able to walk off the field under their own power.
After the A's held on for their first series win since late May, first-year manager Mark Kotsay told reporters that neither player was being evaluated for a concussion, though Bride took the worst of it.

"[Bride] banged his right shoulder up," Kotsay told reporters. "He's got a laceration on his nose. No stitches but definitely wouldn't stop bleeding while we were out there."
The play was ruled a single for Olivares and it allowed Bobby Witt Jr. to score, giving the Royals a brief 3-2 lead. Olivares was thrown out at second base by center fielder Cristian Pache, who was backing up the play, ending the inning.
Starter James Kaprielian, who had just been removed from the game earlier in the bottom of the sixth, reacted to another collision involving Pinder.
"You never want to see your guys clash into each other," Kaprielian told reporters. "I feel like Pinder’s been part of those a lot this year. I think they’re both doing OK from what I’ve heard. But hopefully they get to full health if they’re not soon."
Pinder managed to stay in the game, singled with two outs in the top of the seventh and moved to third base on a double by Pache. Nick Allen dropped a single in front of center field Michael A. Taylor, allowing Pinder and Pache to score, giving the lead back to the A's.
As for Bride, he was replaced on defense to begin the bottom of the seventh. Elvis Andrus entered the game at shortstop with Allen moving to second base.
Kotsay noted that the combination of the bleeding from the laceration and the impact on Bride's shoulder led to him being removed from the game.

On May 10, Pinder collided with Andrus during a game against the Detroit Tigers at Comerica Park. Just like Sunday's game in Kansas City, Pinder remained in that game against the Tigers and finished the contest.
