Athletics executive vice president of baseball operations Billy Beane handed manager Bob Melvin a personalized bottle of wine on Tuesday as he congratulated him for being the winningest manager in Oakland A's history. The team, along with MLB paid tribute to the feat.
It was the perfect treat as Melvin celebrated with a quiet glass of wine when he had a moment to himself last Tuesday after he notched No. 799 to surpass former skipper Tony La Russa.
As Melvin walked out in front of the crowd, he did the typical BoMel walk with his hands in his pockets before he adjusted his glasses to stand near home plate with Beane.
