The Athletics will be without their star centerfielder for more than the allotted 10 days.
Ramón Laureano, who was placed on the 10-day Injured List on June 1 (retroactive to May 28), saw Dr. Marc Philippon on Thursday, and received a cortisone shot in his right hip and a PRP injection in the iliopsoas muscle and groin, head athletic trainer Nick Paparesta said on Friday.
Laureano landed on the IL with right groin tightness and is eligible to be activated Monday, but the A's ruled him out beyond June 7.

Outfielder Skye Bolt was recalled as a result, and was mentioned as a possible starter in Laureano’s place, but A’s manager Bob Melvin isn’t sure if that will be the case as time goes on.
“We’ll see how it plays out,” Melvin said Friday.
The team has off days coming up that could play into the decision. For now, the A’s have Mark Canha as their main option in center. He’s starting in center field against the Colorado Rockies on Friday.
The A’s said they should have more information on Laureano’s status Wednesday.
