Some of us might have forgotten Kyler Murray also is a first-round draft pick … in baseball. I didn’t, that story took over my life at one point, but nonetheless …
Murray was selected ninth overall by the A’s as an outfielder in the 2018 MLB Draft. Long story short, he didn’t continue with baseball and entered the 2019 NFL Draft where he was selected first overall by the Arizona Cardinals and instantly became the team’s franchise quarterback.
Although the A's still retain his MLB rights, his future in baseball is assumed to be over. However, Murray says there's still a chance he could still come back to the game.

SIGN UP HERE “I miss baseball, for sure, just being in the box, being out there with the guys competing,” Murray said on CBS Sports’ Tiki and Tierney on Tuesday. “I know where I’m supposed to be at."
“For me, I wish I could do both. I definitely feel like I could,” Murray added. “I never say never, but as of right now, I’m having fun doing what I love.”
If Murray were to have chosen baseball, he admitted he probably would be missing football as well. His comments make it seem like he could try to play both at the same time, something made popular by Bo Jackson and Deion Sanders in the 1990s.

This NFL season, Murray has tallied 2,375 passing yards with 17 touchdowns and a 68.2 percent passes completed percentage. He's in the conversation for MVP, leading the Cardinals to a 6-3 record. He also earned AP Offensive Rookie of the Year honors in 2019.
We don’t know how he would have done in baseball, but for the time being, his success in the NFL shows he made the right choice.
