The A’s appear to have solved their middle infield issue.
The organization has acquired shortstop Elvis Andrus and significant cash considerations from the Texas Rangers in exchange for designated hitter Khris Davis, catcher Jonah Heim and right-handed pitcher Dane Acker.
First details of the trade came from The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal, citing league sources.

The A’s also will be acquiring catching prospect Aramis Garcia in the deal, The Dallas Morning News' Evan Grant first reported.
The organization will receive $13.5 million in cash considerations from Texas, The Fort Worth Star-Telegram's Jeff Wilson first reported.
An $800,000 assignment bonus will be allocated to Andrus as part of the trade, MLB Insider Jon Heyman reported.

The A’s get a two-time All-Star shortstop in the process who not only fits on the field, but has a tremendous presence in the clubhouse too.
Andrus, 32, has posted a .274/.330/.372 line with 1,743 hits over 12 MLB seasons.

Garcia is no stranger to the Bay Area, having been drafted by the Giants in 2014.
In 111 plate appearances with the Giants, he hit .229 average over 37 games.
For Davis, he has a history of dominating against the Rangers so it would appear they like the addition of him knowing they no longer have to pitch to him.
Davis has a career .271/.260/.662 line with 32 home runs in 79 games against the Rangers.
The 2018 MLB home run leader has seen better days in his last couple of seasons, so perhaps he could use the change of scenery. The new Globe Life Park has appeared to favor pitchers, and while it’s a small sample size, balls tend to fly there when the right batter gets ahold of one.
Gaining a power bat of Jonah Heim’s caliber also is a positive for the Rangers. Heim did a great job behind the plate for the A's and developed chemistry with pitchers quickly.
