New images show Giants’ Oracle Park bullpens getting finishing touches

At around 11 a.m. Monday, Mayor London Breed announced that San Francisco will move into the next phase of reopening, which allows for sporting events without fans. A few hours later, it became clear that MLB is further than ever from putting the sport back on the field.

The news today wasn't good, but if MLB walks back Monday's pessimistic tone and agrees to play a season, the city will be ready. Oracle Park will be, too.

The latest pictures released by the Giants show that the outfield construction is nearly finished. The finishing touches are being put on the new bullpens, which include chain-link gaps in the outfield walls so players can watch the action:

The bleacher shot provided is a new angle from the Giants, and shows how visible the bullpens will be for most fans in the outfield. There will be decks alongside them that allow some fans to get up close, but it appears most fans with bleacher seats will have a pretty good view anyway of the guys warming up.

This was a dark afternoon for baseball, but hopefully those photos cheer you up a bit. Whenever the game returns, Oracle Park will have a cool new feature, and the playing surface will be a lot safer for left and right fielders.
