SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – January 11, 2022 – NBC Sports Bay Area and Provident Credit Union announced the start of the 2022 All-Star Teacher Award. In its 15th year, the All-Star Teacher Award has recognized middle and high school teachers in Northern and Central California for their extraordinary dedication to their students in school and in the community. The winning teacher will receive $20,000 for his/her school and will be announced this summer prior to a San Francisco Giants game.
Nomination forms can be found online at ASTSweeps. Completed nomination forms must be received no later than Monday, February 7, 2022. Once the nominations have been received, a panel of judges will select five finalists. Voting for your favorite among the finalists can be done online at NBCSportsBayArea.com/AST from April 11 to June 6.
Finalists will be selected based the criteria of four categories: overall commitment; excellence in teaching; rapport with students; and level of distinction.

The winner of the 2021 All-Star Teacher Award, Tomokazu Morikawa, won $20,000 for George Washington High School in San Francisco.
