The Giants hope to hire a general manager soon, and they reportedly have one man in mind.
Dodgers general manager Farhan Zaidi is San Francisco's top choice for the same position, according to the New York Post's Joel Sherman. Should Zaidi turn the Giants down, they will shift their attention to Tampa Bay Rays senior vice president of baseball operations Chaim Bloom.

MLB Network's Jon Morosi reported the Giants' interest in Zaidi last week. Zaidi has been the Dodgers' GM since Nov. 6, 2014. Prior to that, he worked in the A's front office in various roles for nearly a decade. He is the first Muslim GM of an American professional sports team.
Bloom has been a candidate all along, and sources told NBC Sports Bay Area's Alex Pavlovic on Thursday that the Giants hoped to land a second interview with Bloom. Bloom, 33, has worked for the Rays for 13 years, and was promoted to his current position in 2016.
