MLB Players' Weekend: Giants release nicknames for their 2019 jerseys

It's the moment we've all been waiting for. With the Giants in the thick of the NL wild-card race, it's time for some actual important news.

On Tuesday, the Giants released their nicknames for this season's MLB Players' Weekend.

According to sportslogos.net, the jerseys, which will be worn Aug. 23-35, will be all black with white outlining the lettering. The hats will be all black.

Some Giants players went classic with their nicknames like Madison Bumgarner (Mad-Bum), Pablo Sandoval (Panda), Jeff Samardzija (Shark), Evan Longoria (Longo) and Mike Yastrzemski (Yaz). Stephen Vogt paid homage to the "I Believe In Stephen Vogt" chant, and Scooter Gennett might have the best one of all the nicknames.

Gennett, who already goes by his nickname, decided to go reverse-nickname and put "Ryan" -- his birth name -- on the back of his jersey. The biggest disappointment, though, is outfielder Alex Dickerson.

Grandpa? Really? C'mon, Alex.
