Pittsburgh Pirates center fielder Andrew McCutchen broke out of his slump in a big way. With one out in the ninth inning of a tie game with the Cincinnati Reds, McCutchen took Jonathan Broxton deep for a walk-off solo home run.

But the hit may have been too late for McCutchen. It snapped an 0-for-16 skid that dropped his batting average from .336 to .329 and allowed Giants catcher Buster Posey to leapfrog him in the NL batting title race.

McCutchen finished the day 1-for-5. Meanwhile, Posey went 2-for-2 with a walk and a run scored in the Giants' Saturday night game in San Diego before he was lifted in place of Eli Whiteside.

The crown may have been decided over the past four games. While McCutchen is 1-for-his-last-17, Posey has six hits in his last 15 at-bats.
Posey, who is batting an MLB-best .384 since the All-Star break with 13 home runs and 57 RBIs, upped his season average to .337 to establish a eight-point lead for the National League batting title.
Posey is 175-for-520 (.33654), while Andrew McCutchen is 191-for-580 (.32931).
The Pirates and Giants each have four games remaining in the season, but it's possible Posey isn't in the Giants lineup for each of their final games.
