PHOENIX -- Manny Ramirez has arrived. The free-agent DH will have to serve a 50-game suspension for his positive test for PEDs last season, but for now, Manny is an Athletic, working out with his teammates this morning at Phoenix Municipal Stadium.
He arrived at 9 a.m. (Arizona time), took some fly balls in the outfield, and then climbed into the batting cage and said jokingly, "I don't remember how to do this."
Shortstop Cliff Pennington was standing nearby and told him, "just like riding a bike." According to Comcast SportsNet producer Colvin Marshall, Manny was spraying the ball to all fields and hit multiple homers to both sides, including three in a row off BP pitcher Mike Gallego.
