Derek Law's breakout rookie season has hit a speed bump.

The Giants placed the 25-year-old reliever on the disabled list Sunday with a right elbow strain.

Outfielder Jarrett Parker was recalled to take Law's roster spot.

In 53 games for the Giants this season, Law has a 1.94 ERA and 47 strikeouts in 51 innings.

Law was in the midst of a dominant two-month stretch. In 22 innings of 24 appearances between July and August, he had allowed just 12 hits and one earned run.

Law pitched an inning of scoreless relief in the Giants' 3-1 loss to the Braves on Saturday.

In 47 games with the Giants this season, Jarrett Parker is hitting .248 with three doubles, five home runs and 11 RBI.
