SAN FRANCISCO — Jake Peavy has talked for weeks about how he can’t wait for a healthy 2016. The Giants hope his finish in 2015 is a sign of things to come.
Peavy breezed through five innings of a 3-2 win over the Rockies and the bullpen held on from there. The win was the fifth straight for Peavy, who has been a solid No. 2 since returning from the disabled list.

On the offensive end, this one was all about homers. Kelby Tomlinson got the scoring started with an inside-the-park homer in the first. The speedy rookie hit one to triple alley and raced around when Carlos Gonzalez and Corey Dickerson took their time getting the ball back to the infield. The inside-the-parker was the ninth in AT&T Park history and the sixth by a Giant.
Marlon Byrd hit a solo shot two batters later and Brandon Crawford smacked the first pitch of the fourth over the wall in center. Crawford’s homer was his 21st, the most of any National League shortstop.
The Rockies got a solo homer in the fifth, but that was the only damage against Peavy, who got through five in his final start of the season. Peavy gave way to pinch-hitter Madison Bumgarner in the fifth, and after Bumgarner singled, he got to third and was replaced by pinch-runner Mike Leake. The last weekend of baseball can be weird.
Starting pitching report: Peavy’s two partial (thanks to an injury this year) seasons with the Giants: 31 starts, 189 1/3 innings, 2.99 ERA. That’ll play.

Bullpen report: Santiago Casilla finished his 55th game, locking in a $6.5 million option for next season.
At the plate: Tomlinson rounded the bases in about 14.9 seconds, which is right about what Angel Pagan was at on his game-winning inside-the-parker two years ago. That’s the standard, apparently.
In the field: A pop-up to center dropped about three feet away from a jogging Pagan and cost Josh Osich a run on a day when he pitched well. It wouldn’t be a surprise if the Giants make a change to their outfield alignment this offseason.
Attendance: The Giants announced a sellout crowd. The people got Chewbacca bobbleheads for some reason.
Up next: The final game of 2015. It’s Matt Cain vs. Christian Bergman.
