BOX SCORE

PHOENIX — Twice in this series, Bruce Bochy chatted with reporters about the offensive explosions being seen around baseball. His team didn’t participate over a weekend in scorching Phoenix.

The Giants scored just four runs in three games at one of the best hitter’s parks in the majors. Predictably, they got swept by the Diamondbacks.

The final score Sunday was actually not totally indicative of the game, even if it very much fit in with this 2017 season. The Diamondbacks won 11-0 after scoring nine runs -- eight of them off Matt Cain -- in the bottom of the eighth. They hit back-to-back-to-back homers at one point.

It was ugly. Here are five things to know from the first seven innings, when it just seemed like a familiar loss …

—- Chris Stratton’s final line: 6 innings, 4 hits, 2 runs, 5 walks, 10 strikeouts. Over his last three starts, Stratton has allowed just two runs in 18 2/3 innings. One of Sunday’s runs came on a strikeout/wild pitch with two outs. The other was a solo homer by J.D. Martinez.

—- The Giants have six 10-strikeout games all season. Stratton has done it twice in his past three starts. He joined Jeff Samardzija as the only pitchers on staff with multiple double-digit strikeout games this season.

—- Buster Posey had a brutal series despite getting two games at first base. He was 1-for-11, with just a single to left. Posey hit into a double play in the first inning.

—- Kyle Crick was brought into the game with two on, two outs, and Paul Goldschmidt at the plate. He struck Goldschmidt out on four pitches, the final one a 96 mph heater. Crick’s stock continues to rise.

—- Brandon Crawford was out of the starting lineup because of hamstring tightness, but he pinch-hit in the eighth. Crawford bounced into a double play, ending his 10-game hitting streak.
