Let's be honest: Everything about this MLB season feels weird, odd and makes us feel a little uneasy right now. The weirdness was seen right away during Opening Day when the Giants faced the Dodgers in Los Angeles, too.
Somehow, someway a balloon found its way into Dodger Stadium despite there being no fans allowed inside due to the coronavirus pandemic. So, how could that possibly happen? The origin story is a good one.
Celebrity hairstylist Chaz Dean had a collection of balloons in honor of losing his mother, Millie, days before the game. In a video posted by the Dodgers' Twitter account, you can hear someone saying, "That one's for Millie, that one's for Millie" as the balloon accidentally was released around 1:15 p.m.

"So with my birth mother Millie, I'm just like, 'Show me you're here. Show me a sign, just give me something,' "Dean said. "My dad just said to me a week ago, because he misses sports and the woman he married loved sports, he says, 'When we get back to a normal life, you've got to take me to a Dodger game.' "

Millie made sure she was at the Giants vs. Dodgers game on July 23, and the Dodgers gave her an 8-1 win over their rivals.
“If that wasn’t a sign from my birth mother, naming the balloon in honor of Millie, landing at Dodger Stadium,” Dean said in an interview with NBC Los Angeles.
