The throwbacks that boast an intertwined S.F. logo on the left breast were condemned to the closets when the Giants instituted a new road uniform in 1994 that displayed San Francisco script across the chest, similar to the style currently adorned on the road. But last Sunday, the away jerseys of old made a resurgent appearance in an important win in Game 4 against the Marlins.

Melky Cabrera went 4-for-4 with a home run, channeling Barry Bonds' 1993 NL MVP season in which he led the league with 46 home runs and 123 RBI.
Those won't be the only throwback jerseys the Giants don this year. In fact, your next look into the past is fast approaching. This Saturday, June 2, the Giants and Cubs will play a "Turn Back the Century" game, in which both teams will take AT&T Park wearing their 1912 throwbacks.
The New York Giants finished the 1912 season atop the National League standings and lost the World Series 4-3 to the Red Sox. The team boasted a starting rotation the current staff can be jealous of:
Christy Mathewson: (23-12, 2.12 ERA) 310 innings, 27 CGs, 134 strikeouts, 34 walks.
