Giants, Schierholtz agree on 1-year deal

The Giants avoided arbitration with Nate Schierholtz it was reported Tuesday. The club and the outfielder agreed on a one-year deal according to Andrew Baggarly of the San Jose Mercury News.

According to the report, it is a one-year, 1.3 million contract with 150,000 in performance-based incentives.

Schierholtz, 26, appeared in a career-high 115 games last season, batting .278 with nine home runs and 41 RBIs.

Schierholtz has a career .273 average with 18 homers and 102 RBI.
