SAN FRANCISCO -- Over the past seven games, the Giants have won in non-Giants fashion; they've gone 5-2 on the power of their offense, averaging 6.43 runs per game while their usually-dominant starting rotation has operated with a 7.88 ERA over that span.
San Francisco scored six times in their extra-innings loss on Tuesday, and the only offensive change in Wednesday's lineup is in left field, where manager Bruce Bochy has elected to start Xavier Nady in place of Gregor Blanco. Nady is 4-for-10 (.400) with three RBIs and two runs scored since joining the Giants.
