Giants' Jaylin Davis reveals most memorable catch of young MLB career

Jaylin Davis became the subject of much fodder among Giants fans after coming over in a trade with the Minnesota Twins involving reliever Sam Dyson. Prior to joining the Giants organization, Davis already had hit 35 home runs in the minor leagues last season.

But Davis isn’t bad with the glove either, as he explained the story of his favorite catch from back in his days playing in the Arizona Fall League.

“I just started running back and I looked up,” Davis told the hosts of NBC Sports Bay Area’s “Triples Alley” earlier this week. “I was like ‘Oh, I might have a chance at it’ and our bullpen is like right in front of it, so I jumped and stuck my cleat into the wall and I reached over and I robbed it.

“Our whole bullpen went crazy.”

Although video of the amazing grab doesn’t seem to exist, Davis has a perfectly timed photo of the moment thanks to a fan.

If Davis ends up occupying either center or left field at Oracle Park this upcoming season, we could see another one of these highlight-reel catches. He’s clearly a bona fide slugger given his pro production, but he might just provide a few web gems as well.
