Are the Giants going to pursue Zack Greinke?
"I'm not gonna eliminate anybody at this point," general manager Bobby Evans said on KNBR 680-AM Thursday morning.

After electing to opt out of his contract with the Dodgers earlier this week, Greinke is one of several big-name free agent starting pitchers.
Despite the fact that he just turned 32 years old, Greinke just completed his best season ever, amassing a 19-3 record and an other-worldly 1.66 ERA.
Some media pundits believe Greinke's representation could demand the same kind of deal Max Scherzer signed with the Nationals last season -- 7 years, $210 million.

"I'm not surprised at anything at this point on these bigger name free agents in terms of what their market may do," Evans said. "It only takes one club willing to pay it to make that deal happen. And we've seen some clubs do some exceptional things to get exceptional talent.
"But that's a tall order, that's a huge price to pay. He's certainly older than Kershaw was, and has a few less Cy Youngs that Kershaw did."
Kershaw will turn 28 years old in March, and has won 3 Cy Youngs to Greinke's one (in 2009 with the Royals). Kershaw is in the middle of a 7-year, $215 million contract that will pay him 32, 33, 33, 32 and 33 million annually over the next five seasons respectively.
He can opt out after the 2018 season, similar to how Greinke had three years left on his contract but had the ability to opt out after the 2015 season.
Last winter, the Giants heavily pursued Jon Lester, who ultimately signed a 6-year, $155 million contract with the Cubs.
"Every situation is different and every negotiation is different," Evans explained. "And there's some that you know before you ever start that this is probably going to get way too far away from us to really take it seriously. But to initially have the conversation costs you nothing, and it's worth trying to find out."
