Giants fans are partying like it's 2010 right now. They just swept the ultra-talented A's in their all-important two-game exhibition series, it's an even year and San Francisco once again has a top catching prospect on the cusp of the big leagues.
OK, time to burst your bubble. It appears FOX Sports doesn't believe the hype.

To be fair, the Giants don't exactly have a star like the other five teams. They also easily could have included someone like Mike Yastrzemski or Brandon Crawford. It's not like Howie Kendrick, who they oddly chose as the Nationals' featured player, is some superstar.
Choosing a Giants player also could be hard with how often manager Gabe Kapler will change his lineup. He might even use a reliever like Tyler Rogers to start a game on the hill.

The Giants aren't expected to contend in the 60-game shortened season. They're just fine with being counted out, too. Coaches and the front office like this team much more than the outside with how often they can mix and match, providing optimal opportunities for their hitters.
Even in their dynasty when they won three championships in five years, from 2010 through 2014, the Giants never were seen as favorites. It's clear that will be the case this season as well.
