Giants catcher Rob Brantly gets help from wife to keep his swing ready

The wives of professional baseball players carry a heavy load during the season, particularly at the end of the spring.

Many of them spend this time of year packing up a spring training rental, with the lucky ones sending everything back to San Francisco, where they'll quickly search for a home for the next six months. For players who might be headed to the minors, their significant others spend the end of the spring trying to figure out how to get a family settled in Sacramento or Richmond in a matter of days.

This March is quite a bit different, though. With everyone sent home and players told to practice social distancing, there aren't many options when it comes to training partners, so some players have turned to their life partners.

Amy Crawford, Brandon's sister, went viral the other day when she posted a video of herself playing catch with her husband, Gerrit Cole, one of the game's best pitchers. Amy, a softball player at UCLA, showed off her strong arm and made it clear that the Yankees' ace will have no problems keeping his arm in shape during this layoff.

Giants catcher Rob Brantly has also gotten help from his wife as he tries to stay ready. Over the weekend, Brantly posted a video of a creative setup that's helping him keep his swing in shape:

Brantly's wife, Milene, is the one feeding him pitches. He captioned the video, "My wife is an absolute rockstar!!!!" Milene was tagged again in a video of her husband doing catching drills.

Brantly is one of two players who will be vying to be Buster Posey's backup when camp resumes. He was competing with Tyler Heineman, who has spent some of his free time doing magic tricks for Giants fans.
